Overview

Most equipment manufacturers and large enterprises prefer rack based platform for test tools as they compact and higher density form factor solution for testing, monitoring, and troubleshooting network conditions. The hardware units can be easily deployed and securely fixed to an equipment rack to provide extraordinary scalability to test switches, routers and end-to-end Networks. These racks based platforms incorporates the basic test unit along with the necessary PC hardware, Windows® operating system and remote accessibility via scripting and remote desktop. It includes additional USB ports (with support for mouse/keyboard), GigaBit Ethernet ports, in-built PC with solid-state hard drive (32Gb), standard 2G memory, Video port (VGA), and Serial port (COM). There are no moving parts with the unit, so reliability and longevity are integral.

High Density Network Monitoring Appliance (PacketScan™ HD)

GL's PacketScan™ HD is a high density multi-protocol rack mounted Network Monitoring Tool. Some of its important features include:

  • Network Monitoring Tool w/ 4x1GigE and w/2x10GigE network interface cards that can capture and process high volumes of communication protocols over IP network
  • Supports capture and processing of up to 5000 simultaneous calls with duplex traffic
  • Advanced wirespeed filtering capability to capture the traffic of interest
  • Almost all VoIP and Wireless protocols over IP  layer can be captured and decoded for troubleshooting network problems

High Density Bulk Call Traffic Generator (MAPS™ HD)

MAPS™ HD is an advanced multi-protocol rack mounted Bulk Call Traffic Generator. Some of Its important features include:

  • Available as special purpose rack mount network appliance with 4x1GigE NIC capable of high call intensity (hundreds of calls/sec) and high volume of sustained calls (tens of thousands of simultaneous calls/platform)
  • Easily achieve up to 30,000 endpoints per appliance (8000 per port) and supports wide range of codecs
  • Up to 350 calls per second (with RTP traffic)
  • Scales to around 100,000 to 200,000 endpoints with use of Master Controller for single point of control

High Density Signaling & Packet Load Generator (2U)

PacketLoad is a 1U network appliance that includes 4 x 1GigE ports supporting total capacity of up to 4 Gbits/sec stateful packet traffic generation. Other features include:

  • GL's MAPS™ platform with PacketLoad appliance provides high density (up to 4 Gbps) stateful TCP/HTTP, UDP, and PCAP replay traffic simulation solution in UMTS (SGSN, GGSN, RNC), and LTE (SGW, PDNGW) networks
  • MAPS™ Server with PacketLoad module allows to encapsulate the generated packet data within GTP headers and transmit through the gateway points such as SGSN & GGSN, or SGW & PGW

GL's PacketBroker that allows the Ethernet test tool to be used as a highly precise non-intrusive Wirespeed Ethernet Tap with all the necessary features that are listed below:

  • Capture real world packet-based traffic at wirespeed
  • Define multiple packet filters for drilling-down to traffic of interest
  • Generate triggers based on packet filters

WAN Emulators - Multi Stream (1U)

IPNetSim™ emulates multi stream bidirectional WAN IP Link with a 10 Gbps or a 10/100/1000 Mbps full duplex link. Some of its  important features include:

  • Emulates 1 bidirectional WAN Link (emulates 16 streams on 1 Gbps ports and 4 streams on 10 Gbps ports) per unit
  • Emulate WAN conditions separately and independently on each direction. Acts as a transparent bidirectional link or a simple Ethernet Bridge for easy integration with any test setup

IPLinkSim™, a single stream WAN Emulator that emulates a bidirectional 10 Gbps or 10/100/1000 Mbps full duplex WAN IP link.

  • Emulates 1 bidirectional WAN Link per IPLinkSim™ unit
  • Emulate WAN link conditions separately and independently for each direction. Acts as a transparent bidirectional link or a simple Ethernet Bridge for easy integration with any test setup

24 Port WB Analog Bulk Call Generator – VQuad™ System  

VQuad™ 24-port HD FXO solution is an all-in-one 2U rack supporting 24 independent HD FXO ports, with Wide Band (WB) and Narrow Band (NB) Audio.

The 2U VQuad™ HD FXO system incorporates 12 Dual UTA HD units supporting a total 24 FXO Analog ports, VQuad™ software, and all necessary PC interfaces.  Access to the 24 Analog ports is via an Amphenol connector on the back of the system which can be broken out to 24 RJ11 connections. All 24 FXO ports are independent and can be fully automated or remote controlled for a fully autonomous test solution.




   
96-Port Analog Bulk Call Generator MAPS™ APS  

MAPS™ APS is the high capacity Analog 2-wire Bulk Call Generator used to test a Central Office (CO), PBX, ATAs, Gateway or other telecommunications equipment, which provide local loop interfaces. It includes a compact system comprising of MAPS™ APS, Analog Interfaces, Patch Panels and other optional modules (Fax Emulation and VQT Analysis) in a rackmount system.  MAPS™ APS system supports up to 96 independent FXO ports per 1U MAPS™ APS Server and APSCB-48. More can be achieved by simply scaling the system with a 4U MAPS™ APS Server sporting 2 Octal T1E1 Cards which can then support up to 384 analog ports.  




Audio Analyzer

The Audio Analyzer is a 4-wire PTT device that can emulate all functions of a PTT device. It includes VQuad™ software, Dual UTA with PTT/Audio interfaces, and necessary PC interfaces. It can generate TTL signals based on different PTT actions (PTT ON, PTT OFF, Send Audio, Detect Audio). It can also be utilized in other areas of the network where analog audio signals are present.

Automatically key PTT signal as an endpoint and communicate with far end points such as Controller Working Position, Radio and VoIP Gateway




6x T3 E3 Channelized Analyzer   

GL’s rack based Channelized T3E3 Analyzer, supports 6 T3s (6 * 672 DS0s). Multiple rack units can be stacked together for greater scalability. A T3 (DS3) consists of a total of 28 T1s, or 672 full duplex voice channel.  Similarly, an E3 consists of a total of 16 E1s, or 480 full duplex voice channels.

The basic analyser software supports monitoring all T3 E3 alarms, T1 E1 alarms and frame errors on up to 12 T3 E3 lines simultaneously. With additional applications, such as record-only, one can even record traffic at DS0 levels.




Rack based T1 E1 Testers (1U)

Almost all of GL’s T1 E1 Testers can be accommodated into rack based units. A typical 1U rack mount Quad T1 Tester system is as shown in the figure above. Similarly, a customized 2U rack can accommodate up tp 3x tProbe™-T1 E1 -Datacom-Analog units, to serve the purpose of handling multiple communications lines and test complex functionalities.
