1G Multi-Port Ethernet Probe

PacketExpert™ Probe is a portable Quad Port Ethernet/VLAN/MPLS/IP/UDP Tester with 4 Electrical Ethernet Ports (10/100/1000 Mbps) and 2 Optical Ports (100/1000 Mbps). Each GigE port provides independent Ethernet/VLAN/MPLS/IP/UDP testing at wire speed for applications such as BERT, RFC 2544, and Loopback. BERT is implemented for all layers. RFC 2544 is applicable for Layers 2, 2.5, and 3, and Loopback is applicable for Layers 2, 3, and 4. Further, PacketExpert™ also supports optional applications for advanced testing such as Record and Playback, ExpertSAM™, PacketBroker, Multi Stream UDP/TCP Traffic Generator and Analyzer, and ExpertTCP™.

It truly takes confusion out of Ethernet / IP testing at all protocol layers - from Layer1 frames to IP/UDP packets. It can be used as a general purpose Ethernet to IP performance analysis tool for 10 Mbps, 100 Mbps and 1 Gbps Ethernet local area networks and wide area networks (WAN).

Two of the 4 ports in the PacketExpert™ unit support both electrical and optical interfaces per unit, enabling testing on optical fiber links as well. The electrical ports support 10/100/1000 Mbps, and optical ports support 100/1000 Mbps using SFP. The embedded PC makes it conveniently be used for field testing.

24 Port WB Analog Bulk Call Generator - VQuad™ System
24 Port WB Analog Bulk Call Generator - VQuad™ System

The VQuad™ 24-port HD FXO solution is built using multiple 1U rack-mounted systems, each populated with Dual UTA HD modules, to provide scalable and high-density analog call generation.

Two of the 1U racks include embedded PCs and integrated network interfaces for centralized control, automation, and remote access.

Each 1U rack accommodates multiple Dual UTA HD units, together supporting a total of 24 independent HD FXO ports with Wideband (WB) and Narrowband (NB) audio capability.

The complete VQuad™ system integrates:

  • Multiple 1U stacked racks
  • Two 1U racks with embedded PCs and network interfaces
  • 12 Dual UTA HD units (supporting 24 FXO ports)
  • VQuad™ software platform

Access to the 24 analog ports is provided through rear-panel Amphenol connectors, which can be broken out into 24 RJ11 interfaces.

T1 E1 J1 Intrusive/Monitor Switch

The T1 E1 J1 Switch provides non-intrusive failsafe monitoring and intrusive test and diagnostic capability for up to 8 full duplex T1, E1, and J1 lines. The unit provides two RJ-48c connectors for a thru connection for equipment and line connections and a Rj-48c monitor connector for monitoring both directions of a full duplex high speed line. The switch can be remotely controlled via a USB connection. GUI and scripted control software is available for placing the switch in various modes for monitoring and diagnostic purposes.
96-Port Analog Bulk Call Generator MAPS™ APS
96-Port Analog Bulk Call Generator MAPS™ APS

It includes a compact system comprising of MAPS™ APS, Analog Interfaces, Patch Panels and other optional modules (Fax Emulation and VQT Analysis) in a rackmount system.  MAPS™ APS system supports up to 96 independent FXO ports per 1U MAPS™ APS Server and APSCB-48. More can be achieved by simply scaling the system with a 4U MAPS™ APS Server sporting 2 Octal T1E1 Cards which can then support up to 384 analog ports.

Rack-mount Solutions

Multiple TDM Optical and Packet rack enclosure can house any combination of USB based test equipment- PacketExpert™ 10GX, tProbe™ (T1 E1), USB T3 E3 and Dual UTAs to support multiple interfaces in a compact rack space. Rack-mount systems not only provides space efficiency, but also account for easier scalability and reduced licensing cost per port.

1u Rack-mount is an enclosure, w/ or w/o Embedded PC. Scalability of Rack-mount solution can be achieved by stacking Rack-mount enclosure housing any of the USB based units with daisy chain connection. The daisy chain option allows to connect multiple Rack-mount solutions without embedded PC to a single Rack-mount with embedded PC, allowing all units to be controlled using a single software. This way multiple units can be stacked to accommodate more number of interfaces per system, and all controlled by a single software.

Rack-mount Solutions for TDM, Optical and Packet-IP network interfaces are briefly discussed.

Rack-mount VQuad™ Dual UTA HD

GL's VQuad™ Rack-mount solution is an all-in-one self-contained VQuad™ with Dual UTA HD test instrument designed for conveniently testing up to 12 independent telephony devices for Smartphone/Handset Benchmark Testing.

A single VQuad™ along with up-to 6 Dual UTA HD units [Two-stacked 1U Rack-mount], supports connection to 12 independent telephony devices. It has the ability to generate Wireless as well as 2-Wire and 4-wire analog calls using same hardware. You can perform simultaneous Voice, Video, Data, Fax, and Time Delay Measurements from a single VQuad™ Rack-mount test solution - greatly reducing the licensing costs per device.

VQuad™ Rack-mount solution can be deployed in the lab to perform simultaneous Voice, Video, and Data Quality tests. For this solution we are using two Rack-mount solution (Rack-mount 1 that includes an embedded PC connects to Rack-mount 2 via USB). So, essentially it is creating a system with one VQuad™ system and 6 Dual UTA HDs. All six Dual UTA HDs support FXO, 4-wire Analog, PTT, and Bluetooth interfaces to connect to any type of telephony device.

Rack-mount Ethernet-Optical-TDM Testers

Rack-mount solutions can combine any of the testers discussed above for unified testing experience of Ethernet /IP, TDM and Optical technologies. It can perform as an all-in-one performance analysis tool allowing tests to be performed at any end points.

Ethernet /IP Testing Tool can be used as a general-purpose Ethernet to IP performance analysis tool for 10 Mbps, 100 Mbps and 1 Gbps Ethernet local area networks and wide area networks (WAN). Each GigE port provides independent Ethernet/VLAN/MPLS/IP/UDP testing at wire speed.

T3 E3 Analyzer is capable of processing signaling, voice, and data full T3 (DS3) or E3 data streams, dropping and inserting T1 (DS1) or E1, and analysis of HDLC, ATM, Frame Relay, and PPP Protocols. It includes various signal testing capabilities for Unchannelized (Unstructured) and Channelized (Structured) T3 E3 Traffic.

Dual UTA HD hardware unit, which supports all the interfaces and telephony devices in a smaller (compact) design. Dual UTA HD supports testing HD voice using Bluetooth® Wideband, and FXO Wideband along with hardware loopback controlled through the VQuad™. Dual UTA HD hardware also includes a PTT interface, Self-Test LED, GPS connect LED, and other enhanced features.

Optical Tap Repeaters (OTR)

Multiport Optical Tap Repeater hardware test platform provides multiple identical outputs for optical and electrical signals at OC-3 / STM-1, OC-12 / STM-4, OC-48 / STM-16, 1 GigE, and 2.5 GigE rates. The need for optical taps that cut the optical power by 30% or 50% are not needed, since the signals are repeated at full power.
