Welcome to another May 2019 issue of GL's Newsletter covering New Applications and Enhancements introduced to our versatile T1 E1 Analyzer product line - now Ver 19.4.12

T1E1 hardware platform cards

New Applications

  • Packet Data Analysis (PDA)

Packet Data Analysis (PDA) is an outstanding tool for live monitoring of signaling and traffic over TDM. Packet Data Analysis (PDA) is distributed with GL’s CAS, ISDN, SS7, UMTS, GSM, PPP and TRAU protocol analyzers. Allowing users to monitor live TDM networks including capture, analysis, and reporting of every call-in detail. Supported protocols include CAS, ISDN, ISUP, CAMEL, MAP, INAP, and GSM.
    • Following TDM protocols such as CAS, GSM-A, ISDN, ISUP (MAP, CAMEL, INAP) are enhanced with new PDA and call capture features to record Voice or any Traffic calls
    • Works in conjunction with PacketScan™ PDA to calculate Router Gateway Delay
    • Pictorial representation of the statistics including ladder diagrams for the calls of various protocols
    • Supports TDM Traffic capturing in PCM file format
    • Ability to decode multiple protocol messages
    • Triggers and Actions can be set to filter captures based on protocol parameters such as Called & Calling Number, CRV, etc., followed by a set of actions for the completed calls
    • Supports saving the selected calls from traffic analyzer into *.HDL, *. PCAP, or *. PCAPNG formats
    • Ability to export CSV files and analyze call detail records of completed calls
    • Enhanced to load the call data records to the GL’s central database such as NetSurveyorWeb™ or NetSurveyorWeb™ Lite application to analyze the captured CDR and Voice files
  • T1 E1 Record Playback

The T1 E1 Record Playback software permits the user to transmit and or capture any signal on T1 or E1 lines with GL's T1/E1 Cards or USB T1/E1 Units. Typical applications include transmission or capture of pre-recorded video files, traffic loading applications and protocol analysis.
    • T1 E1 Record Playback: Enhanced with user selectable T1 E1 port numbers when more than 16 ports are available
    • Provided Last Reset option on the alarms window to know the last reset date and time of the alarms
    • Enhanced with 16-bit 8 KHz VF port capability to get the received signal up to the level of the transmitted signal
    • MAPS™ FXO FXS Emulator

MAPS™ FXO FXS has been enhanced to support the CAMA Simulation. GL’s MAPS™ FXO FXS application can be used to simulate CAMA trunks connected to the 911 selective router (SR) and can be configured for non-intrusive monitoring of 911 services.
      • CAMA simulation capabilities include - seize the line, wait for wink, dial ANI, wait for call connect, detect seizure from far side, provide wink, wait for ANI, and connect the call
      • CAMA monitoring capabilities include - seizure and wink start detection, onhook and offhook detection and MF digit (ANI) detection

Some Important T1 E1 Application Enhancements

    • Installations and Invoking

A single wrapper installer is provided to install T1 E1 Analyzer 64-bit and 32-bit installations. On windows® 64-bit Operating system, user is prompted with the option to choose whether to install 64-bit or 32-bit T1 E1 installation. However, on Windows® 32-bit, only 32-bit T1 E1 installation gets executed.
    • T1 E1 Analyzers is supported on Windows® 8.1 and above 64-bit and 32-bit Operating Systems

    Enhancements to Other Applications

    Voice Band Analyzer (VBA)

Voice Band Analyzer (VBA) is an analysis tool for monitoring voice band network traffic over VoIP, TDM and wireless networks. In the latest version the VBA has been enhanced to display status records time stamps, elapsed times in seconds and milliseconds

    Windows Client Server (WCS)

The WCS has been enhanced with Traffic Function Server Split File Recording, this feature creates multiple files per minute based on individual file duration, and also enhanced to handle the CRC length as configured by the user

    Protocol Analyzers

    • Protocol Analyzers are enhanced to support hundreds of T1 E1 ports with selection options i.e. even, odd, set, add or delete selected ports in Physical Layer Analyzer for example for all T1s and E1s in a T3 E3 or OC-3/12
    • Provided options to auto resize multiple columns in Summary and CDR view
    • EnabledBerChoice protocol object to be displayed in summary column and to be used for search, filter, CDR and statistics

    Soft T1 E1

The latest enhancements for soft T1E1 is

    • Updated Alarms window on Soft T1 E1 to show alarms only for selected ports for T3 E3
    • Provided popup menu to switch between selected and all ports alarm settings
    • Provided Last Reset option on the alarms window to know the last reset date and time of the alarms

Message Automation and Protocol Simulation (MAPS™) Enhancements

    • Updated MAPS™ CAS, and GSM Abis Scripts
    • Updated with the latest ACM codec files
    • MAPS™ ISUP
      • User configurable Cause Values and Cause Location
      • Support Circuit Query and Circuit validation procedures in ANSI

    MCBERT

MCBERT (Multi-Channel Bert) provides on-line and offline measurement of correctness of data received on T1/E1 lines according to a repetitive pattern file.
