The GL Voice Recorder is used to manually capture the voice/data over a 2-wire Analog interface. Using the 2-wire Phone Tap adaptor, one can non-intrusively ‘tap’ into the analog 2-wire line via the RJ11 interface and capture the bi-directional voice/data. The recorded voice/data is automatically saved into a single PCM file.

The 2-wire Analog hardware tap can be used for Post Dial Delay (PDD) and Post Ringback Delay (PRD) measurements (within VQuad™) as well as all types of measurements associated with a 2-wire analog call. The 2-wire Analog hardware tap along with the Voice Recorder software is primarily used in conjunction with GL Insight™ Modem and Fax analysis for capturing the modem/fax data from the 2-wire Analog interface.

Modem and Fax Data Analysis

GLInsight™ verifies fax and modem calls by analyzing the recorded PSTN files (or IP stream). The Voice Recorder helps record these PSTN calls to the required location. The analyzer can then report with a detailed log file for easy event tracking.
