GL Communications offers a complete ED-137 VoIP test and monitoring solution for Air Traffic Services Ground Voice Networks (AGVN). The solution simulates and tests communication between key components such as Controller Working Positions (CWPs) and Ground Radio Stations (GRSs). Based on EUROCAE ED-137 standards, it supports Ground-to-Ground and Air-to-Ground call flows, including features such as Push-To-Talk (PTT), Squelch, Call Transfer, and Priority Calls. This helps ensure reliable communication and performance in real-world air traffic environments.
GL’s PacketScan™ is a real-time monitoring and protocol analysis tool for IP-based networks. It supports ED-137 and ED-138 standards, capturing and analyzing live signaling and voice traffic over IPv4 and IPv6. PacketScan™ monitors a wide range of traffic types (voice, tones, digits, video, and fax) and measures voice quality parameters including Mean Opinion Score (MOS), jitter, delay, packet loss, duplicate packets, and out-of-sequence packets.
In Air-to-Ground calls, each PTT or Squelch action is treated as a separate session, generating fresh voice quality statistics for every transmission. Its GUI provides easy-to-read Summary and Detail views with protocol ladder diagrams and supports RTP header extension decoding and R2S Keep Alive monitoring per ED-137 specifications.
Multiple PacketScan™ probes can be deployed across the network to capture call activity at various locations. These probes forward Call Detail Records (CDRs) to a centralized database, accessible through GL’s NetSurveyorWeb™ system. This setup enables users to monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure that air traffic communication systems meet strict safety and quality standards. The solution is ideal for Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs), equipment vendors, and system integrators involved in air traffic communication.
