Hand Portable Test Instruments. These units can test a wide variety of
communications systems including asynchronous and synchronous data interfaces such as RS 232, RS 422, V.35, and X.21
as well as T1 and E1, and T3 and E3.
Overview
GL's hand portable instruments LinkTest™ SINGLE,
LinkTest™ SINGLE+, and
LinkTest™ DUAL are sophisticated bit error rate testers and monitors for
almost any interface. GL's LinkSim™ is a link simulator for simulating a wide range of
communication links with capabilities such as delay and error insertion.
Brief description of the Products
LinkTest™ SINGLE is a handheld portable unit
supporting a single T1 and E1 interface and used to test asynchronous, synchronous, T1, E1, Fractional T1, Fractional E1,
modems, multiplexers, CSU/DSUs, T1 ESF CSUs, DU, NTUs and TIUs. The LinkTest™ SINGLE is supplied with
V.35, RS232, RS422/RS530, X.21, DS1 (T1, 1.544 Mbps) and G.703 (E1, 2.048 Mbps) interfaces. The tester is battery
operated or can be used with a wall-mounted AC transformer.

- Interfaces include V.35, RS232, RS422/RS530, X.21, T1, E1
- Data rates from 50 bps to 10 Mbps

LinkTest™SINGLE+ is a portable unit supporting a single T1, E1, T3, and E3 interface and used to test a
variety of communication equipment including DDS, T1, Fractional T1, E1, Fractional E1, T3 and E3, NTUs, multiplexers,
CSU/DSUs, T1 CSUs, DTUs and TIUs.
Some of the Important features
- Tests asynchronous, synchronous, DDS, T1 and Fractional T1, E1 and Fractional E1, T3, E3 facilities and equipment
- Interfaces include V.35, RS232, RS422/RS530, X.21, HSSI, DDS, T1/E1, T3/E3
- Data rates from 50 bps to 50 Mbps

The LinkTest™ DUAL is a portable unit supporting dual T1, E1, T3 and E3 interfaces and used to
test equipment including T1, Fractional T1, E1, Fractional E1, T3 and E3 modems, multiplexers, CSU/DSUs, T1 CSUs, DTUs,
NTUs and TIUs.

- Tests asynchronous, synchronous, T1 and Fractional T1, E1 and Fractional E1, T3E3 facilities and equipment
- Interfaces V.35, RS232, RS422/RS530, X.21, HSSI, dual T1E1, dual T3E3 as standards

LinkSim™ unit is used to simulate a variety of communications links, inserting delays and inserting errors such that
the user can determine what effects these impairments will have on their systems. The unit supports applications such as
testing protocols and error correction techniques, checking new equipment prior to field installation, and measuring
performance and reliability in various operating environments.

- Supports T1/E1, RS232, V.35, RS422/RS530, X.21, HSSI
- Supports 78 data rates from 1,200 to 50M bps
- Inserts delays up to 1.999 second in each direction
