Overview
Recording at PBX extension has traditionally been limited to installing either expensive devices at the PBX or low cost analog
'handset tap' devices. However, the 'PBX-2-USB' technology elegantly addresses these problems with sophisticated GL's 2-Wire
Phone Tap and accompanying software.
The 2-Wire Phone Tap connects non-intrusively to any analog telephone line and to the USB Interface of a PC for recording
incoming calls and outgoing calls. Voice in both directions, Caller ID, and DTMF digits are all recorded, detected, and decoded. The
2-Wire Phone Tap can also connect to any IP, digital, analog, or chordless telephone at the handset curly cord point. The
accompanying software delivers the best analog and digital connectivity along with comprehensive recording and playback features.
The device is compatible with the following PBX's and digital telephones: Avaya Definity, Magix, IP office, Toshiba DK & CTX,
Nortel Norstar & BCM, Nortel Meridian, Vodavi/LG (April 2004), Siemens Hicom/HiPath, Inter-tel (future), NEC Electra Elite/IPK, NEC
NEAX 2000/2400, Panasonic KXTD/KXTD-A/DBS, and Samsung DCS (April 2004).
Applications
Message Taking - uses 2-Wire Phone Tap to record a message instead of writing it down. Users can email the
message to the recipient, and use it as a mini unified messaging system.
Customer Service Desks – The accompanying 2-Wire Tap software is a great training tool that can be used to
monitor agents' call activity from time to time.
Operator Positions - monitors important calls being answered and transferred.
Call Centers – The 2-Wire Phone Tap software at each desk can record to a central server location for
supervisor listening.
Conference Calls - Records important discussions and decisions in a meeting.
Dictation – The 2-Wire Phone Tap allows you to dictate directly into your phone and emails the recording to an
assistant.
